In “Where the Crawdads Sing,” Kya lived in the marshlands of North Carolina. It was where she felt safe and loved. I wanted my piece to depict the marsh as peaceful and tranquil. Somewhere that the viewer could dwell and feel Kya's presence. Somewhere that Kya could call home.
