The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series cracked open my mind to the world of irreverent, comedic, philosophical, comedic, literary science-fiction. It taught me there are no boundaries or rules for creativity--you just need to be brave and stick out your thumb to any good looking idea flying through your thoughts. And, maybe more importantly, always remember your towel and DON'T PANIC. (Plus, the movie is very good and Douglas Adams wrote the screenplay too, so you're allowed to like it as much as the books.)
